CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2017 - 93 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MA YOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />CONTRACT WITH MAD BOMBER FIREWORKS PRODUCTIONS TO <br />PROVIDE A FIREWORKS DISPLAY FOR THE 2018 NORTH OLMSTED <br />FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted, in the 1970's and 1980's, had a long tradition of <br />orchestrating a 4th of July fireworks celebration and fostered a sense of community pride and <br />served as a family friendly way to celebrate the holiday, and <br />WHEREAS, to celebrate the City of North Olmsted's bicentennial, foster community <br />pride and provide a family friendly way to celebrate the 4th of July weekend in 2015, a wildly <br />successful fireworks celebration was held in North Olmsted, to the delight of many; and <br />WHEREAS, with the support of Council and the Chamber of Commerce, Mayor <br />Kennedy continued this tradition by having a fireworks celebration in North Olmsted again in <br />2016, 2017 and proposes to do so again in 2018; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Planning and Development that <br />the City enter into a contract with Mad Bomber Fireworks Production to provide a fireworks <br />display for the 0h of July celebration on July 1, 2018. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter into an agreement <br />with Mad Bomber Fireworks Productions to provide a fireworks display for the City of North <br />Olmsted for July, 1, 2018. The contract shall be in form and substance substantially similar to <br />the attached Mad Bomber Productions Agreement, marked as Exhibit A, and attached hereto, <br />with such changes to be hereinafter made in said contract as are not substantially adverse to the <br />City and which are approved by the Director of Law. The character of any such changes as not <br />being substantially adverse to the City shall be evidenced conclusively by the execution of the <br />Agreement by the Mayor and the approval of the Agreement by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the <br />earliest date provided for by law following its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: Jc f\" -r1 W 16, First Reading: <br />Second Reading: <br />
