Employer may terminate payments and insist that the employee go on a pension program. <br />SECTION 3: Any employee who qualifies for the benefits under this Article shall not have his <br />accumulated sick time reduced because of a qualified accidental injury which occurred while in <br />the line of duty. <br />ARTICLE 23: <br />BEREAVEMENT LEAVE <br />SECTION 1: All employees shall be granted Bereavement Leave (not to be deducted from <br />employee's sick leave) according to the following schedule: <br />a) Upon the death of an immediate family member, five (5) days; and <br />b) Upon the death of a family member, three (3) days. <br />SECTION 2: For the purposes of this Article, immediate family shall mean: Husband, wife, <br />child, parent, brother or sister of employee and parents of spouse of the employee. <br />Family member shall mean: Brother or sister of spouse, grandparents, grandparents of spouse, <br />grandchild as well as any relative living in the employees house. <br />ARTICLE 24: <br />JURY DUTY LEAVE <br />SECTION 1: An employee called for jury duty shall be granted a leave of absence for the <br />period of the jury service and will be compensated at full pay for absences necessarily caused by <br />the jury duty. <br />SECTION 2: Employees working the second, third, relief or overlap shifts, will not be required <br />to work on the day that the employee is on jury duty and these employees will be compensated as <br />provided in Section 1. <br />ARTICLE 25: <br />HEALTH AND SAFETY <br />SECTION 1: Safety must be a prime concern and responsibility of both parties. Therefore, the <br />Employer accepts the responsibility to provide safe working conditions, and establish safe <br />working practices for his employees. The Employer agrees to furnish bargaining unit employees <br />all equipment required and maintain all such equipment in safe working conditions in order for <br />them to fulfill their duties. <br />SECTION 2: <br />A) All unsafe working conditions must be reported by the employee in writing to the <br />19 <br />
