CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2018 - 27 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE A NEW <br />CATERPILLAR MODEL 926M WHEEL LOADER FROM OHIO CAT AT A <br />COMBINED COST OF $148,290.12, THROUGH THE STATE PURCHASE <br />PROGRAM; AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE <br />ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE SUCH PURCHASE, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service recommends that the City acquire one (1) <br />new Caterpillar Model 926M Wheel Loader as a replacement of 1997 vehicle for use in the <br />Department of Public Service, from Ohio CAT, at a cost of $148,290.12, as established by the <br />State Purchase Program; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase said <br />vehicle through the State Purchase Program and to further authorize the Mayor to execute any <br />documents required for such expenditure, including a contract with Ohio CAT, Inc. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to purchase through the <br />State Purchasing Program, which was established by R.C. Section 125.04, and which the City is <br />authorized to participate in pursuant to the City Charter and Resolution No. 87-6, one (1) new <br />new Caterpillar Model 926M Wheel Loader at a cost of $148,290.12, from Ohio CAT, Inc., all of <br />which is described in the specifications on file in the Service Department. If necessary to <br />effectuate any such purchase through the State Purchasing Program, the Mayor is hereby <br />authorized to execute any contract and/or other necessary documents required by the authorized <br />vendor(s), the State of Ohio, or the Charter. Any contract executed by the Mayor shall be in a <br />form and substance consistent with the provisions of this Resolution and be approved by the <br />Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that the <br />current vehicle is beyond its usable life and the new equipment is scheduled for delivery; and <br />further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two thirds of the members of Council, it shall <br />take effect upon its approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: " '� ��� First Reading: <br />Second Reading <br />Third Reading: <br />3 -6' -IT <br />SJS'P�r.1iL� <br />
