CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2018 - 28 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE TWO (2) <br />NEW FORD F-550 TRUCKS AND RELATED EQUIPMENT FROM VALLEY <br />FORD TRUCK, INC. AND INCLUDING PLOW BLADES FROM BEST <br />TRUCK EQUIPMENT AT A COMBINED COST OF $134,136.00, THROUGH <br />THE STATE PURCHASE PROGRAM, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING <br />THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE SUCH PURCHASE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service recommends that the City acquire two (2) <br />new replacement vehicles (Ford F-550) for use within the Department of Public Service from <br />Valley Ford Truck, Inc. including plow blades from Best Truck Equipment at a combined cost of <br />$134,136.00, as established on the State Purchase Program; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase said <br />vehicles and plow blades through the State Purchase Program and to further authorize the Mayor <br />to execute any documents required for such expenditure, including a contract with Valley Ford <br />Truck, Inc., and Best Truck Equipment, Inc. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to purchase through the <br />State Purchasing Program, which was established by R.C. Section 125.04, and which the City is <br />authorized to participate in pursuant to the City Charter and Resolution No. 87-6: <br />1. Two (2) new Ford F-550, at a cost of $62,024.00 per unit, from Valley Ford Truck, <br />Inc. <br />2. Two (2) plow blades assemblies, at a cost of 5,044.00 per unit, from Best Truck <br />Equipment, Inc. <br />All of which is described in the specifications on file in the Service Department. If necessary to <br />effectuate any such purchase through the State Purchasing Program, the Mayor is hereby <br />authorized to execute any contract and/or other necessary documents required by the authorized <br />vendor(s), the State of Ohio, or the Charter. Any contract executed by the Mayor shall be in a <br />form and substance consistent with the provisions of this Resolution and be approved by the <br />Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that the <br />current vehicles are quoted for trade-in deadline with new equipment scheduled for delivery; and <br />further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two thirds of the members of Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
