CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2018 - 28 By: Mayor Kennedy A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE TWO (2) NEW FORD F-550 TRUCKS AND RELATED EQUIPMENT FROM VALLEY FORD TRUCK, INC. AND INCLUDING PLOW BLADES FROM BEST TRUCK EQUIPMENT AT A COMBINED COST OF $134,136.00, THROUGH THE STATE PURCHASE PROGRAM, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE SUCH PURCHASE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service recommends that the City acquire two (2) new replacement vehicles (Ford F-550) for use within the Department of Public Service from Valley Ford Truck, Inc. including plow blades from Best Truck Equipment at a combined cost of $134,136.00, as established on the State Purchase Program; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase said vehicles and plow blades through the State Purchase Program and to further authorize the Mayor to execute any documents required for such expenditure, including a contract with Valley Ford Truck, Inc., and Best Truck Equipment, Inc. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION l: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to purchase through the State Purchasing Program, which was established by R.C. Section 125.04, and which the City is authorized to participate in pursuant to the City Charter and Resolution No. 87-6: 1. Two (2) new Ford F-550, at a cost of $62,024.00 per unit, from Valley Ford Truck, Inc. 2. Two (2) plow blades assemblies, at a cost of 5,044.00 per unit, from Best Truck Equipment, Inc. All of which is described in the specifications on file in the Service Department. If necessary to effectuate any such purchase through the State Purchasing Program, the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute any contract and/or other necessary documents required by the authorized vendor(s), the State of Ohio, or the Charter. Any contract executed by the Mayor shall be in a form and substance consistent with the provisions of this Resolution and be approved by the Director of Law. SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that the current vehicles are quoted for trade-in deadline with new equipment scheduled for delivery; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two thirds of the members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
