CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2018 - 29 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE A NEW <br />FORD F-550 TRUCK FROM VALLEY TRUCK CENTERS AT A COST OF <br />$62,291.00, THROUGH THE STATE PURCHASE PROGRAM, AND <br />FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL <br />DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE SUCH PURCHASE, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service recommends that the City acquire a <br />replacement vehicle (Ford F-550) for use within the Department of Public Service from Valley <br />Truck Centers to replace Vehicle 929 at a cost of $62,291.00, as established on the State <br />Purchase Program; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase said <br />vehicle and lift equipment, through the State Purchase Program and to further authorize the <br />Mayor to execute any documents required for such expenditure, including a contract with Valley <br />Truck Centers. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to purchase through the <br />State Purchasing Program, which was established by R.C. Section 125.04, and which the City is <br />authorized to participate in pursuant to the City Charter and Resolution No. 87-6, one (1) new <br />Ford F-550, at a cost of $62,291.00, all of which is described in the specifications on file in the <br />Service Department. If necessary to effectuate any such purchase through the State Purchasing <br />Program, the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute any contract and/or other necessary <br />documents with Valley Truck Centers as required by the authorized vendor(s), the State of Ohio, <br />or the Charter. Any contract executed by the Mayor shall be in a form and substance consistent <br />with the provisions of this Resolution and be approved by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that the <br />current vehicle is already beyond its expected service life and the new vehicle is ready for <br />delivery; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two thirds of the members of <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the <br />Mayor. <br />PASSED:'" �CCh (�, �(l� First Reading: <br />
