CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2018 - 30 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE A NEW <br />GMC SIERRA 3500 HD TRUCK FROM MORRIS CADILLAC BUICK GMC <br />DEALERSHIP, INCLUDING A PLOW BLADE FROM BEST TRUCK <br />EQUIPMENT, AT A COMBINED COST OF $35,677.50, THROUGH THE <br />STATE PURCHASE PROGRAM, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE SUCH PURCHASE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service recommends that the City acquire one (1) <br />new replacement vehicle (GMC Sierra 3500 HD Truck) for use within the Department of Public <br />Service, specifically Truck #81 in Storm/Forestry, from Morris Cadillac Buick GMC Dealership, <br />including a plow blade from Best Truck Equipment, at a combined cost of $35,677.50, as <br />established on the State Purchase Program; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase said <br />vehicle and plow blade through the State Purchase Program and to further authorize the Mayor to <br />execute any documents required for such expenditure, including a contract with Morris Cadillac, <br />Inc., and Best Truck Equipment, Inc. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to purchase through the <br />State Purchasing Program, which was established by R.C. Section 125.04, and which the City is <br />authorized to participate in pursuant to the City Charter and Resolution No. 87-6, one (1) new <br />GMC Sierra 3500 HD Truck, at a cost of $30,833.50, from Morris Cadillac Buick GMC <br />Dealership, together with a plow blade assembly, at a cost of 4,844.00, from Best Truck <br />Equipment, Inc., all of which is described in the specifications on file in the Service Department. <br />If necessary to effectuate any such purchase through the State Purchasing Program, the Mayor is <br />hereby authorized to execute any contract and/or other necessary documents required by the <br />authorized vendor(s), the State of Ohio, or the Charter. Any contract executed by the Mayor <br />shall be in a form and substance consistent with the provisions of this Resolution and be <br />approved by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that the <br />current vehicle is beyond its usable life and the new equipment is scheduled for delivery; and <br />further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two thirds of the members of Council, it shall <br />take effect upon its approval by the Mayor. <br />
