CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2018 - 32 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE A NEW <br />2018 FORD F-350 TRUCK FROM VALLEY FORD TRUCK, INCLUDING A <br />PLOW BLADE FROM BEST TRUCK EQUIPMENT, AT A COMBINED <br />COST OF $35,503.00, THROUGH THE STATE PURCHASE PROGRAM; <br />AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL <br />DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE SUCH PURCHASE, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service recommends that the City acquire one (1) <br />new replacement vehicle (Ford F350) for use within the Department of Public Service, <br />specifically Truck #81 in Storm/Forestry, from Valley Ford Truck, including a plow blade from <br />Best Truck Equipment, at a combined cost of $35,503.00, as established on the State Purchase <br />Program; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase said <br />vehicle and plow blade through the State Purchase Program and to further authorize the Mayor to <br />execute any documents required for such expenditure, including a contract with Valley Ford <br />Truck, and Best Truck Equipment, Inc. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to purchase through the <br />State Purchasing Program, which was established by R.C. Section 125.04, and which the City is <br />authorized to participate in pursuant to the City Charter and Resolution No. 87-6, one (1) new <br />2018, Ford F350 Truck, at a cost of $30,659.00, from Valley Ford Truck, together with a plow <br />blade assembly, at a cost of $4,844.00, from Best Truck Equipment, Inc., all of which is <br />described in the specifications on file in the Service Department. If necessary to effectuate any <br />such purchase through the State Purchasing Program, the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute <br />any contract and/or other necessary documents required by the authorized vendor(s), the State of <br />Ohio, or the Charter. Any contract executed by the Mayor shall be in a form and substance <br />consistent with the provisions of this Resolution and be approved by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that the <br />current vehicle is beyond its usable life and the new equipment is scheduled for delivery; and <br />further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two thirds of the members of council, it shall <br />take effect upon its approval by the Mayor. <br />
