CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2018 - 40 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE <br />TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE AWARD OF A CONTRACT TO <br />PROVIDE ASPHALT RESURFACING AND RELATED REPAIRS UPON <br />MACKENZIE ROAD, AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE <br />WITH THE ENGINEER, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, FOLLOWING <br />APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO CONTRACT FOR THE <br />SAME WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has been awarded a grant by Cuyahoga County <br />for the purpose of resurfacing MacKenzie Road from Lorain Road southbound to the City limits; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Cuyahoga County will reimburse the City of North Olmsted up to <br />$250,000.00 toward the costs of repairs and resurfacing; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to <br />advertise for bids for the award of a contract to undertake asphalt resurfacing and related repairs <br />on MacKenzie Road, as set forth in specifications on file with the City Engineer, and to further <br />authorize the Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, to enter into a contract with the <br />lowest and best bidder. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to advertise for <br />bids for a contract for asphalt resurfacing and related repairs upon MacKenzie Road, from Lorain <br />Road southbound to the City limits, in accordance with the plans and specifications on file, and <br />in accordance with grant programs administered by Cuyahoga County; and further that, upon <br />approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to enter into such a <br />contract and execute same on behalf of the City of North Olmsted with the lowest and best <br />bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the <br />earliest period allowed by law upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: <br />First Reading: `/ 3-1 � <br />Second Reading: Y-0-1`6 <br />Third Reading: S --1-K <br />Committee: ���fF}5 ��1 Y��„sp "4 ,n <br />
