CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2018 - 48 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE A NEW, <br />2018 FORD F-350 TRUCK FROM VALLEY TRUCK CENTERS, <br />TOGETHER WITH A SNOW PLOW PACKAGE FROM BEST TRUCK <br />EQUIPMENT, ATA TOTAL COST OF 540,498.00, THROUGH THE STATE <br />PURCHASE PROGRAM; AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR <br />TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE SUCH <br />PURCHASE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service recommends that the City acquire a <br />replacement vehicle (Ford F-350) for use within the Department of Public Service (Division of <br />Waste Water) from Valley Truck Centers at a cost of $35,654.00 and a Plow Package from Best <br />Truck Equipment at a cost of $4,844.00, as established on the State Purchase Program; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase said <br />vehicle and plow equipment, through the State Purchase Program and to further authorize the <br />Mayor to execute any documents required for such expenditure, including a contract with Valley <br />Truck Centers and Best Truck Equipment. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to purchase through the <br />State Purchasing Program, which was established by R.C. Section 125.04, and which the City is <br />authorized to participate in pursuant to the City Charter and Resolution No. 87-6, one (1) new <br />Ford F-350 together with a plow package, at a total cost of $40,498.00, all of which is described <br />in the specifications on file in the Service Department. If necessary to effectuate any such <br />purchase through the State Purchasing Program, the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute any <br />contract and/or other necessary documents with Valley Truck Centers and Best Truck Equipment <br />as required by the authorized vendor(s), the State of Ohio, or the Charter. Any contract executed <br />by the Mayor shall be in a form and substance consistent with the provisions of this Resolution <br />and be approved by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That Resolution 2018-31 be and the same is hereby repealed, void and of <br />no further effect. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that the <br />estimated time of delivery for the vehicle is late in 2018; and further provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two thirds of the members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
