ARTICLE 48 CONFORMITY TO LAW 48.01 This Agreement shall be subject to and subordinated to any applicable present and future federal and state laws, and the invalidity of any provisions of this Agreement by reason of any such existing or future law shall not affect the validity of the surviving provisions. 48.02 If the .Enactment of legislation, or a determination by a court of final and competent jurisdiction (whether in a proceeding between the parties or in one not between the parties but controlling by reason of the facts) renders any portion of this Agreement invalid or unenforceable, such legislation or decision shall not affect the validity of the surviving provisions of this Agreement, which shall remain in frill force and effect as if such invalid provision(s) thereof had not been included herein. 48.03 In the event any portion of this contract is invalidated through enactment of legislation, or a determination by a court of final and competent.jurisdiction, upon written request by any party, the parties shall meet at mutually agreeable times to modify any invalid provisions through good faith negotiations. ARTICLE 49 DURATION 49.01 This Agreement shall become effective on July 1, 2018, and shall continue in full force and effect until midnight on December 31, 2020, and thereafter from year to year unless at least one hundred and twenty (120) days prior to said expiration date, or any anniversary thereof, either party gives timely written notice of an intention to reopen negotiations, an initial conference will be arranged within fourteen (14) days after receipt of such notice, but not earlier than September 18'h preceding expiration of this Agreement.
