CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2018 - 54 By: Mayor Kennedy AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 1317 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ENTITLED "REGISTRATION OF CONTRACTORS," AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Building Commissioner to amend the contractor registration requirements of the North Olmsted Building Code; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to amend the requirements of the North Olmsted Building Code to clarify requirements for licensing and registration of specialty contractors (HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and hydronics) doing residential work, and clarify and simplify the procedure for registering contractors not regulated under ORC 4740. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That Chapter 1317 of the City of North Olmsted Building Code, which currently reads as set forth on the attached and incorporated Exhibit A, be amended and, as amended, shall read in its entirety with additional language in boldface type and removed language stricken, all as set forth in the attached Exhibit A. SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately due to to protect residents and ensure the highest quality of standards; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest date provided for by law.
