CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2018 - 65 <br />BY: Mayor Kennedy, President Jones and all Members of Council <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT A <br />DONATION OF OVER $1,000.00 FROM THE NORTH OLMSTED <br />FOUNDATION TO ASSIST IN THE ACQUISITION OF A K9 UNIT AND <br />RELATED EQUIPMENT FOR THE DIVISION OF POLICE, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AS AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, the North Olmsted Foundation has graciously offered a donation of over <br />$1,000.00 to assist in the acquisition of a K9 Unit and related equipment; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor requests that Council recognize and accept this generous <br />donation, pursuant to Section 131.06 of the Administrative Code, and join in his expression of <br />gratitude on behalf of the City and the entire community; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to authorize the Mayor to accept the donation of over <br />$1,000.00, with the sincerest appreciation of Council. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO. <br />SECTION 1: That the City of North Olmsted authorizes the Mayor to accept the <br />donation of over $1,000.00 from The North Olmsted Foundation to acquire a K9 Unit and <br />further authorizes the Mayor to execute any documents required for this donation of said sum. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and <br />further for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately due to <br />the significant lead time required to obtain a dog; and provided it receives the affirmative vote <br />of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon <br />its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: J✓/i f (-J , ?�% <br />AATTES <br />CHAR L S MASSA ROL0 H <br />Clerk of Council <br />First Reading.- <br />Second <br />eading:Second Reading: I q <br />Third Reading.
