CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2018 - 65 BY: Mayor Kennedy, President Jones and all Members of Council A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT A DONATION OF OVER $1,000.00 FROM THE NORTH OLMSTED FOUNDATION TO ASSIST IN THE ACQUISITION OF A K9 UNIT AND RELATED EQUIPMENT FOR THE DIVISION OF POLICE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AS AMENDED. WHEREAS, the North Olmsted Foundation has graciously offered a donation of over $1,000.00 to assist in the acquisition of a K9 Unit and related equipment; and WHEREAS, the Mayor requests that Council recognize and accept this generous donation, pursuant to Section 131.06 of the Administrative Code, and join in his expression of gratitude on behalf of the City and the entire community; and WHEREAS, this Council desires to authorize the Mayor to accept the donation of over $1,000.00, with the sincerest appreciation of Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO. SECTION 1: That the City of North Olmsted authorizes the Mayor to accept the donation of over $1,000.00 from The North Olmsted Foundation to acquire a K9 Unit and further authorizes the Mayor to execute any documents required for this donation of said sum. SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately due to the significant lead time required to obtain a dog; and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
