CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2018 — 68 <br />BY: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MA YOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />CONTRACT WITH AT&T MOBILITY NATIONAL ACCOUNTS LLC <br />TO ENROLL IN THE AT&T FIRSTNET EMERGENCY <br />MANAGEMENT NETWORK, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, FirstNet is the country's first nationwide public safety <br />communications platform dedicated to first responders; and <br />WHEREAS, the FirstNet network grew out of and addresses a 9/11 Commission <br />recommendation calling for interoperable communications for all U.S. first responders; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, with the FirstNet network, Police and Fire will have access to fast, <br />highly secure and reliable communications whenever they need them. This, in turn, will <br />help them stay safe while they help others during both day-to-day operations and disaster <br />response and recovery, and when securing large events; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Human Resources and <br />the Mayor that the City enroll in the FirstNet program and purchase necessary equipment; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, this Council, acting upon the recommendation of the Director of <br />Human Resources this Council desires the Mayor to enter into a contract with AT&T <br />Mobility National Accounts LLC for the FirstNet program. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter into a <br />contract with AT&T Mobility National Accounts LLC to provide the FirstNet service and <br />equipment. Said contract, attached as Exhibit A, shall be approved by the Director of <br />Law, who is authorized to negotiate any such changes as not being substantially adverse <br />to the City, as shall be evidenced conclusively by the execution of the agreement by the <br />Mayor and the approval of the agreement by the Director of Law. <br />
