Council Minutes of 6-26-2018 <br />Mr. Urmin said yes and our toy box is full. He said the Mayor also said the tax base from <br />our businesses are doing just fine. Mr. Urmin asked if that's the case why do the citizens <br />need to pay for additional services or a recreational center to bring more people into the <br />City. He said he has concerns about businesses closing. Mr. Urmin said there is a very <br />nice toy box over there that just needs to be spruced up. He said Mr. Glassburn broke <br />down his proposal, that maybe in its infancy, but his proposal says the repairing or <br />updating of ice rink and pool might be five million each, which is ten million as opposed <br />to the 30 or 35 million just the rec center would cost under this proposal. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Councilman Brossard made a motion to amend Ordinance 2018-64 to add an emergency <br />clause. The motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert and passed 5-1. Ordinance <br />2018-64 is amended 5-1. Councilman Glassburn voted no. <br />Ordinance 2018-64 introduced by Mayor Kennedy on behalf of himself, Councilman <br />Brossard and Councilwoman Williamson was given its second reading. An Ordinance <br />renaming and amending Section 333.11 of the Traffic Code currently entitled "Texting <br />While Driving Prohibited" so as to further prohibit internet usage while driving and <br />additionally making a violation of Section 333.11 a primary offense, and declaring an <br />emergency, as amended. <br />Ordinance 2018-66 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. An <br />Ordinance to make and transfer appropriations for current expenses and other <br />expenditures for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2018, and <br />declaring an emergency. <br />Resolution 2018-70 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract with Pelton Environmental <br />Products for the purchase of 96 "UV Lamps" for use in the disinfection process at the <br />Wastewater Treatment Plant. <br />Resolution 2018-71 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. A <br />Resolution determining to submit to the electors of the City the question of issuing bonds <br />for the purpose of improving the City's park and recreational facilities by constructing, <br />renovating, remodeling, adding to, furnishing, equipping and otherwise improving <br />buildings, facilities and playing fields in the Recreation Center Complex and North <br />Olmsted Community Park and improving existing facilities at Barton and Bradley Park <br />and facilities on other City properties for recreational purposes, in each case providing <br />supporting site, street, sidewalk and parking improvements and necessary appurtenances <br />and work incidental thereto; and declaring an emergency. <br />MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS <br />Councilman Schumann scheduled a Finance Committee meeting for Tuesday, June 26, <br />2018 at 7:45 p.m. to discuss Resolution 2018-71. <br />5 <br />
