CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2018 - 81 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE TWO (2) <br />NEW FORD UTILITY INTERCEPTORS AND RELATED EQUIPMENT <br />FROM STATEWIDE FORD LINCOLN, THROUGH THE STATE <br />PURCHASING PROGRAM, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR <br />TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE SUCH <br />PURCHASE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service recommends that the City acquire two <br />replacement vehicles for use within the Department of Public Service from Statewide Ford <br />Lincoln at a cost established on the State Purchasing Program; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase said <br />vehicle, through the State Purchasing Program and to further authorize the Mayor to execute any <br />documents required for such expenditure, including a contract with Statewide Ford Lincoln <br />Mercury. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to purchase through the <br />State Purchasing Program from Statewide Ford Lincoln Mercury, which was established by R.C. <br />Section 125.04, and which the City is authorized to participate in pursuant to the City Charter <br />and Resolution No. 87-6, two (2) new Ford Utility Interceptors, plus equipment, at a cost set <br />forth in the specifications on file in the Service Department. If necessary to effectuate any such <br />purchase through the State Purchasing Program, the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute any <br />contract and/or other necessary documents required by the authorized vendor(s), the State of <br />Ohio, or the Charter. Any contract executed by the Mayor shall be in a form and substance <br />consistent with the provisions of this Resolution and be approved by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare and for the <br />further reason it is necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately in order that the City <br />acquire the vehicles before the current, favored model is discontinued and further, provided it <br />receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of the Council, it shall take effect and <br />be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
