CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2018 - 86 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING AND <br />DEVELOPMENT TO MAKEAPPLICA TION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS COUNTY ROAD 50/50 FUNDING <br />PROGRAM; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT FUNDS, <br />IF AWARDED, AND TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT AS REQUIRED; AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, County Road 50/50 Program Funding is awarded based upon a scoring system <br />that considers the number of users, pavement condition, age of infrastructure, economic health of the <br />municipality, and previous awards from the program; and <br />WHEREAS, the City can apply for up to $250,000.00 per project; and <br />WHEREAS, the administration intends to apply for funding to reconstruct Butternut <br />Ridge Road between Revere and Great Northern Boulevard. The last major improvement to the <br />road was made in 1992; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Planning and <br />Development to apply for such funding and, if granted, to further authorize the Mayor to execute <br />a contract required to accept such funding. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Planning and Development be and she is hereby <br />authorized to apply for funding from the County Road 50150 Program Funding. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized to accept said funding, if <br />awarded, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted and to execute a contract, if required. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further <br />reason that it is necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately in order to meet the <br />application deadline of September 21, 2018; and further provided that it receives the affirmative vote <br />of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its <br />passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
