CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2018 - 89 BY: Council President Jones and all Members of Council AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AND FIXING THE COMPENSATION FOR COUNCIL AT -LARGE MEMBERS FOR THE TERM OF OFFICE COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 2020, THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2023. WHEREAS, this Council is required by Charter to fix and establish the compensation for elected officials, at least thirty (30) days before the deadline for the filing of nominating petitions for election to such offices; and WHEREAS, the deadline for the filing of nominating petitions for the Council -at - Large positions is the 12th day of June 2019; and WHEREAS, it is necessary for this Council to adopt legislation with an effective date at least thirty (30) days prior to said nomination petitions deadline, or, to -wit: on or before May 12, 2019, in order to comply with the requirements of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted, and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to provide for compensation for the position of Council -at -Large for the years 2020 through 2023 by increasing the compensation by 2% from the 2019 rate of pay. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the compensation for the office of Council -at -Large for the period commencing January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2023 shall be as follows: Effective January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020 - $13,973.13 Effective January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021 - $14,252.59 Effective January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022 - $14,537.64 Effective January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2023 - $14,828.39 SECTION 2: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
