CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2018 - 92 By: Mayor Kennedy A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR ROCK SALT FOR ROADWAY ICE AND SNOW REMOVAL FOR USE BY THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, AS DETAILED IN SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE AND FURTHER A UTHORIZING THE MA YOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER, AFTER BOARD OF CONTROL APPROVAL. WHEREAS, the Department of Public Service has advised this Council that it is necessary to advertise for bids to purchase bulk treated rock salt for ice and snow removal operations, as required, to fulfill needs throughout the City; and WHEREAS, the Service Department has prepared and filed for inspection all necessary bid specifications for said rock salt requirements contract; and WHEREAS, the current contract expires September 2, 2019; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for bulk treated rock salt for ice and snow removal needs throughout the City, as required, and to further authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder to purchase said rock salt, after Board of Control approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1 T RESOL VED B Y THE CO UNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for bulk treated rock salt for ice and snow removal needs throughout the City in accordance with the bid specifications now on file for the 2019-2020 snow season, and further, that upon approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to enter into a contract and execute the same on behalf of the City of North Olmsted with the lowest and best bidder.
