CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2018 - 93 By: Mayor Kennedy A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO SOLICIT BIDS FOR THE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL OF SOLID WASTE AND RECYCLABLE MATERIALS, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MA YOR, UPON APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER. WHEREAS, the current term of the City's contract with Allied Waste for the collection and disposal of solid waste and recyclable materials expires on December 31, 2019; and WHEREAS, all contract extensions have been granted pursuant to the terms of the contract; and WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Service that the City advertise for bids for a new contract for the collection of trash and recyclable materials effective January 1, 2020, in accordance with the specifications on file in his office; and WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to solicit bids for the collection and disposal of solid waste and recyclable materials in accordance with the specifications on file in his office, and to further authorize the Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control, to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to provide for the collection and disposal of solid waste and recyclable materials, as detailed in the specifications now on file in the Service Department, and that further, the Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control is hereby authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City with the lowest and best bidder. SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest date provided for by law.
