CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2018 - 96 BY: Mayor Kennedy AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND RES TA TING CHAPTER 165 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TITLED, "LANDMARKS COMMISSION. " WHEREAS, Director of Planning and Development Kimberly Lieber has reviewed the current Chapter 165, "Landmarks Commission," and has recommended changes to the Code; and WHEREAS, the changes recommended are, among others, as follows: 1) Reorder various sections in order to create a more workable product; 2) Add a section outlining a process to modify the boundaries of an existing historic district; 3) Clarify how impacted building permit applications are referred to the Landmarks Commission; 4) Add more items to the exempted activities previously listed under minor changes; 5) Create a section on review process for COAs; 6) Provide for the same review process regardless of whether a property is a landmark or located in a historic district; 7) Create different sections for Commission determinations on construction / alteration versus demolition; 8) Create ability for Commission to adopt separate design guidelines; and WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Administration that Chapter 165 be amended accordingly; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, acting upon the recommendation of the Administration, to amend Chapter 165. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That Chapter 165, "Landmarks Commission" of the Administrative Code, which presently reads in its entirety as set for on attached Exhibit A be amended and, as amended, shall read in its entirety as set forth on attached Exhibit B.
