CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2018 - 106 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING AND <br />DEVELOPMENT TO MAKE APPLICA TION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED FOR THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY SUPPLEMENTAL <br />GRANT PROGRAM, FURTHER A UTHORIZING THE MA YOR TO ACCEPT <br />FUNDS, IF AWARDED, AND TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AS REQUIRED; <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Cuyahoga County recently announced the 2019 Supplemental Grant Program <br />and the City of North Olmsted is eligible to apply for up to $50,000.00 in funding for a variety of <br />capital improvement projects, such as parks and recreation facilities improvements at Clague Park; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the administration intends to apply for funding to make capital improvements at <br />Clague Park, including but not limited to restroom facilities; and <br />WHEREAS, although no specific matching funds are required as a condition of grant <br />approval, the administration anticipates that additional funding and/or in-kind contribution of <br />equipment, labor and City services will be necessary to accomplish the capital improvement projects; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Planning and <br />Development to apply for such funding and, if granted, to further authorize the Mayor to execute a <br />contract required to accept such funding. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Planning and Development be and she is hereby <br />authorized to apply for funding from Cuyahoga County for the 2019 Supplemental Grant Program in <br />order that the City of North Olmsted may participate in funding of up to $50,000.00 for capital <br />improvement projects. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized to accept the said funding, if <br />awarded, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted and to execute a contract, if required. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further <br />reason that it is necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately in order to meet the <br />
