CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2018 - 101 BY: Councilman Schumann AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL FILE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO REMOVE SCHOOL HOUR PARKING RESTRICTIONS ON REVERE DRIVE, POMPTON DRIVE, GL O UCHESTER DRIVE, NANTUCKET DRIVE AND DOROTHY DRIVE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AS AMENDED. WHEREAS, Ordinance 93-107 added No Parking signs on Burns, Decker, Dorothy, Glouchester, Midvale, Nantucket, Northern, Pompton, Porter -South of Lorain, Revere, and Southern to prevent parking on the street by students during the school year; and WHEREAS, the new school opened in August 2018 with two (2) access points on Butternut, one (1) on Burns, and one (1) pending on Revere; and WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Safety to remove "No Parking" during specified school hours signs on Revere Drive, Nantucket Drive, Pompton Drive, Glouchester Drive and Dorothy Drive and, necessarily, to amend the Traffic Control File accordingly; and WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the maintenance of the Traffic Control File, which files can be amended only by ordinance duly adopted by this Council. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND THE STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Safety be and he is hereby authorized and directed to amend the Traffic Control File of the City of North Olmsted to duly reflect removal of the "No Parking" during specific hours on School Days on Revere Drive, Nantucket Drive, Pompton Drive, Glouchester Drive and Dorothy Drive. SECTION 2: That the Director of Public Safety be and he is hereby authorized to cause the removal of signage and other markings, as appropriate, at the location so described. SECTION 3. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that it is necessary to promptly correct traffic flow interruptions; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two thirds of the members of council, it shall take effect upon its approval by the Mayor.
