CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2018 - 101 <br />BY: Councilman Schumann <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL <br />FILE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO REMOVE <br />SCHOOL HOUR PARKING RESTRICTIONS ON REVERE <br />DRIVE, POMPTON DRIVE, GL O UCHESTER DRIVE, <br />NANTUCKET DRIVE AND DOROTHY DRIVE, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AS AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, Ordinance 93-107 added No Parking signs on Burns, Decker, Dorothy, <br />Glouchester, Midvale, Nantucket, Northern, Pompton, Porter -South of Lorain, Revere, and <br />Southern to prevent parking on the street by students during the school year; and <br />WHEREAS, the new school opened in August 2018 with two (2) access points on <br />Butternut, one (1) on Burns, and one (1) pending on Revere; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Safety to remove "No <br />Parking" during specified school hours signs on Revere Drive, Nantucket Drive, Pompton Drive, <br />Glouchester Drive and Dorothy Drive and, necessarily, to amend the Traffic Control File <br />accordingly; and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the maintenance of the Traffic <br />Control File, which files can be amended only by ordinance duly adopted by this Council. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND THE STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Safety be and he is hereby authorized and <br />directed to amend the Traffic Control File of the City of North Olmsted to duly reflect removal <br />of the "No Parking" during specific hours on School Days on Revere Drive, Nantucket Drive, <br />Pompton Drive, Glouchester Drive and Dorothy Drive. <br />SECTION 2: That the Director of Public Safety be and he is hereby authorized to cause <br />the removal of signage and other markings, as appropriate, at the location so described. <br />SECTION 3. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that it <br />is necessary to promptly correct traffic flow interruptions; and further provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two thirds of the members of council, it shall take effect upon its approval by <br />the Mayor. <br />
