CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />By: Mayor Kennedy RESOLUTION NO. 2018 -118 <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MA YOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />CONTRACT WITH FRANTZ BROTHERS FOR CONSTRUCTION <br />SERVICES TO RENOVATE FIRE STATION 2, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Safety solicited bids for construction services for <br />the Fire Station 2 kitchen renovation project based on specifications prepared by the City's <br />architect; and <br />WHEREAS, the construction costs for renovations necessary at Fire Station 2 were <br />estimated below Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) and this contract for same is not legally <br />required by the City Charter to be competitively bid; and <br />WHEREAS, time is of the essence, as the contract proposal is due for acceptance <br />this year, to be constructed as soon as possible; and <br />WHEREAS, Frantz Brothers Construction LLC is experienced in projects such as this and <br />submitted a proposal in the amount of Twenty Five Thousand and Eighty -Eight Dollars <br />($25,088.00); and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract <br />with Frantz Brothers Construction LLC to perform renovations at Fire Station 2 based on and <br />pursuant to the attached proposal. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with <br />Frantz Brothers Construction LLC for construction services for the Fire Station 2 kitchen <br />renovation project based on and pursuant to the attached Proposal in the amount <br />of Twenty Five Thousand and Eighty -Eight Dollars ($25,088.00). Said contract shall further be in <br />a form and substance that is not substantially adverse to the City and which is approved by the <br />Director of Law. The character of any such changes as not being substantially adverse to the City <br />shall be evidenced conclusively by the execution of the agreement by the Mayor and the approval of <br />the agreement by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately to ensure <br />acceptance of the proposal in 2018 for construction to commence in 2019; and further <br />
