CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 82 - 127 <br />BY: JAMES J. LOGAN <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL MAP AND <br />FILE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO PROVIDE FOR <br />THE INSTALLATION OF A TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAL ON <br />COUNTRY CLUB BOULEVARD AT THE SECOND INGRESS AND <br />EGRESS, GREAT NORTHERN SHOPPING CENTER DRIVE WEST <br />OF GREAT NORTHERN BOULEVARD, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY, AS AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, the Council and the Administration recognize that <br />there is a traffic congestion problem in the area of the Great <br />Northern Shopping Center, and <br />WHEREAS, the Great Northern Partnership has agreed to <br />install a traffic control signal on Country Club Boulevard at the <br />second driveway west of Great Northern Boulevard, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to amend the <br />traffic control map and file to provide for the installation of said <br />traffic control signal, and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the <br />maintenance of a Traffic Control Map which said map can be amended <br />only by ordinance. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Police be and they are hereby <br />authorized and directed to amend the traffic control map and file <br />of the City of North Olmsted to indicate thereon a traf_fic control <br />signal on Country Club Boulevard at the point where Country Club <br />Boulevard intersects with the second Great Northern Shopping Center <br />drive west of Great Northern Boulevard thereby controlling traffic <br />both east and west on Country Club Boulevard, as well as traffic <br />exiting from the Great Northern Shopping Center drive on the north <br />side of Country Club Boulevard. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that <br />the traffic signal will provide more positive control for motorists <br />and pedestrians, and further, provided it receives the affirmative <br />vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval <br />by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: z _kwe,?
