EXHIBIT I <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />1.1 The basic services to be provided by ENGINEER under Section 1. Basic Services <br />of the engineering services for the City Hall HVAC Project are as follows: <br />(a) Completion of the Scope of Services listed in the ENGINEER's PROPOSAL, <br />on which this Agreement is based: <br />A. Contract Documents Phase — ENGINEER will: <br />• Prepare detailed construction drawings for public bidding, permits and <br />construction. <br />Prepare specifications to support construction drawings, materials and <br />systems. <br />• Update the Opinion of Probable Construction Cost. <br />• Prepare bidding information. <br />Assist the Owner in connection with the Owner's responsibility for <br />filing documents required for the approval of governmental authorities <br />having jurisdiction over the Project. <br />B. Bidding and Negotiation Phase — ENGINEER will: <br />Following the Owner's approval of the construction documents and <br />the final estimate of construction cost, the ENGINEER will assist the <br />Owner in obtaining bids or negotiated proposals and assist in awarding <br />and preparing contracts for construction. <br />C. Construction Phase — ENGINEER will: <br />• Advise and consult with the Owner during the construction phase, as <br />well as visit the site at intervals appropriate to the stage of the <br />contractor's operations in order to become generally familiar with and <br />to keep the Owner informed about the progress and quality of the work <br />completed, endeavor to guard the Owner against defects and <br />deficiencies in the work, and determine in general if the work is being <br />performed in accordance with the contract documents. <br />10 <br />
