CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2019 - 50 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy, and Council President ,Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, ON BEHALF OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH <br />THE NORTHEAST OHIO PUBLIC ENERGY COUNCIL (NOPEC), TO <br />ACCEPT NOPEC ENERGIZED COMILIUNITY GRANTS FOR 2019, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Citv of'North Olmsted. <br />Public Energy Council ("NOP1C".) and is <br />Community Grants for 2019 (NEC ('jrants") <br />tyuidelines; and <br />Ohio ("C'ity") is a member of the Northeast Ohio <br />eligible for one or more NOPE(' Energized <br />as provided for in the NEC' Grant Program <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to enter into a Grant Agreement yyith NOPF.C, Inc. in the <br />form attached to this Resolution to receive one or more NEC' Grants for 2019. and to authorize <br />the Mayor to execute the Grant Agreement with NO PVC. Inc. in the corm attached --and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE, COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STA TE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council of the City, of' North Olmsted. Ohio finds and determines <br />that it is in the best interest of the City to accept the NEC Grants for 2019, and hereby authorizes <br />the Mayor to execute the Grant Agreement with NOPEC. tile., in the form attached hereto: and <br />this Council does further authorize the Mayor to sign any and all additional documents or forms <br />as may be necessary to consummate and fulfill the Grant Agreement with NOPI;C, tile. <br />SECTION 2: That this Council finds and determines that all forma) actions of this <br />Council concerning and relating to the adoption of the Resolution were taken in an open meeting <br />of this Council and that all deliberations of this Council and of any committees that resulted in <br />those formal actions were in meetings open to the public in compliance with the law. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately to meet the <br />reimbursement deadlines for grant monies available for completed projects, and further provided <br />it receives the affirmative vote of'two-thirds of all members ol'Council, it shall take effect and be <br />in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />ATTEST: <br />1,'irsl Rcw ing: <br />Sccrrrrrl Readhig. 3-ki-K9 <br />Third Reatlimy., SJ An e-1') <br />Corm?4illt'C': �FCPe`� rr� l✓��,Ll-4���57Q✓���r <br />
