CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2019 - 71 <br />BY: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF HUMAN <br />RESOURCES TO SOLICIT PROPOSALS FOR EXCESS <br />INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR THE CITY'S HEALTH CARE & <br />HOSPITALIZATION PLANS FOR 2020, AND FURTHER <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF THE <br />BOARD OF CONTROL, TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR <br />SERVICES. <br />WHEREAS, the specifications for Requests for Proposals for excess insurance or <br />umbrella coverage for the City's Health Care Coverage/Hospitalization Plans (stop loss <br />coverage) are on file in the Office of the Director of Human Resources; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Human <br />Resources to solicit proposals for said excess insurance or umbrella coverage, and to <br />further authorize the Mayor, upon approval of the Board of Control, to enter into an <br />agreement or agreements with qualified insurance carriers for excess claims coverage at a <br />price that is fair and reasonable to the City. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Director of Human Resources be and she is hereby <br />authorized to solicit or request proposals for excess or umbrella insurance coverage for <br />the City of North Olmsted to cover claims that may arise from the City's comprehensive <br />municipal health care/hospitalization insurance plans, specifically the purchase of <br />ancillary health insurance umbrella policy (stop loss coverage), in accordance with the <br />specifications now on file in her office and that, upon approval by the Board of Control, <br />that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement or agreements for said <br />insurance policy with the most qualified firm to perform the services and provide the <br />umbrella insurance at a price that is fair and reasonable to the City. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after <br />the earliest date provided for by law. <br />ATTEST: <br />First Reading: <br />Second Reading: <br />Third Reading: �j,3�►�-� <br />Committee: nand <br />
