CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2019 - 77 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING <br />AND DEVELOPMENT TO SOLICIT STATEMENTS OF <br />QUALIFICATIONS (S.O.Q.) FROM QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS TO <br />PROVIDE BUILDING OFFICIAL AND MASTER PLANS <br />EXAMINER SERVICES TO THE CITY, AND FURTHER <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF THE <br />BOARD OF CONTROL, TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE <br />INDIVIDUAL OR FIRM SELECTED IN THE S.O.Q. PROCESS. <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 112 (Personal Service Contracts) outlines procedure for the <br />City to solicit Statements of Qualifications (S.O.Q.) from qualified individuals or firms, <br />which process allows for competitive proposals based on relative qualifications and <br />allows the Board of Control to select the best qualified personal service provider; and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Planning and Development requests that this Council <br />authorize the process outlined in Chapter 112 of the North Olmsted Codified Ordinances <br />to solicit S.O.Q.'s in order to provide for Building Commissioner services and Master <br />Plans Examiner services in accordance with Ohio Building Code requirements and to <br />work with the City's Building Department staff; and <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with the recommendation of the Director of Planning <br />and Development, it is the desire of this Council to authorize and initiate the S.O.Q. <br />process to select a Building Official and Master Plans Examiner, and upon selection by <br />the Board of Control, to authorize the Mayor to enter into contract for personal services. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Planning and Development be and she is <br />hereby authorized to solicit or request Statements of Qualifications (S.O.Q.) proposals <br />from qualified persons or firms, in accordance with Chapter 112 of the Codified <br />Ordinances, and based on specifications now on file in her office and that, upon approval <br />by the Board of Control, that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement <br />for such services with the most qualified persons / firm to provide the services at a price <br />that is fair and reasonable to the City. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after <br />the earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSED: �,�� � ?zm First Reading. <br />
