CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2019 - 79 <br />BY: Councilwoman Hemann <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT A <br />DONATION OF A TACTICAL 221B BULLET PROOF VEST FROM <br />COUNCILWOMAN MARY ELLEN HEMANN, VALUED AT $1,529.15, TO <br />BE USED BY THE NORTH OLMSTED POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND <br />DEPLOYED BY THE K-9 UNIT FOR PROTECTION OF ITS DOG, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Ward 4 Councilwoman Mary Ellen Hemann has graciously offered a <br />donation of a new Tactical 221B lightweight bullet proof canine vest, valued at $1,529.15, to be <br />used by the North Olmsted Police Department, specifically deployed by the K-9 Unit for <br />protection of its dog, whose name is "Match"; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor requests that Council recognize and accept this generous <br />donation, pursuant to Section 131.06 of the Administrative Code, and join in his expression of <br />gratitude on behalf of the City, law enforcement and the entire community; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to authorize the Mayor to accept the donation of <br />equipment worth approximately $1,529.15, with the sincerest appreciation of Council. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED B Y THIS CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO. <br />SECTION 1: That the City of North Olmsted authorizes the Mayor to accept the <br />donation of a new Tactical 22113 lightweight bullet proof canine vest, valued at approximately <br />$1,529.15, from Ward 4 Councilwoman Mary Ellen Hemann and further authorizes the Mayor to <br />execute any documents required for the donation of said equipment. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and <br />further for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately due to <br />the urgent need for public safety and will take several months to fulfill the order; further <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED.- �i zo 1 1 <br />V J <br />ATTEST: <br />HARLES MASSA R( LD II <br />Clerk of Council <br />APPROVED.- <br />First Reading: �- —1 I <br />Second Reading. <;,,� <br />Third Reading ,S✓s��r�- <br />Committee: <br />NICOLE DAILEYJON S <br />President of Council <br />APPROVED AS TO LEGAL FORM: <br />
