CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2019 - 100 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING AND <br />DEVELOPMENT TO MAKE APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED FOR FUNDS FROM THE STATE OF OHIO 2019 <br />CAPITAL BUDGET AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />ACCEPTANA WARD, IF GRANTED, AND TO EXECUTEANY CONTRACTS <br />WITH THE STATE OF OHIO, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the State of Ohio has established a process for municipalities to request funding <br />from the State of Ohio Capital Budget for projects in the areas of safety, correctional facilities, <br />cultural facilities, natural resources, parks and recreation, mental health, disabilities and higher <br />education; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted, in an effort to enhance recreational facilities <br />available at the North Olmsted Clague Park, proposes to seed funding for a permanent restroom and <br />a walking path; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted recognizes and commits to the use of local funds in <br />order to be competitive in the selection process, as such funds will be appropriated in the 2019/2020 <br />budgetary process; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Planning and <br />Development to apply for funding with the State of Ohio for the Clague Park Improvement Project; <br />to further authorize the Mayor to accept the funding, if awarded, and to execute a contract if <br />required. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Planning and Development be and she is hereby <br />authorized to apply for funding with the State of Ohio 2019/2020 Capital Budget for the Clague Park <br />Improvement Project. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized to accept the said funding, if <br />awarded, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted and to execute a contract, if required; and that the <br />Director of Planning and Development be, and she hereby is, authorized to execute all other non- <br />contract documents necessary to effectuate receipt of said funding. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare, and for the <br />further reason it is necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately in order that the City may <br />
