MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED NOVEMBER 6, 2019 Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Glassburn, Hemann, Kearney, Limpert, Schumann & Williamson Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Safety & Service Glauner, Director of Planning & Development Lieber and Clerk of Council Massarolo Absent: Director of Human Resources Gallo Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The Council meeting minutes of October 15, 2019 were approved as written. The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules this evening: First Reading: Resolution 2019-96. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • The Veteran's Day Ceremony will be at the North Olmsted Performing Arts Center at 9:50 a.m. on Monday, November 11. It is hosted by the North Olmsted VFW and North Olmsted Schools and there will be a complimentary breakfast starting at 8:45 a.m. in the high school cafeteria. • The varsity swim and hockey season has begun and the Recreation Center is hosting three high school swim and hockey teams. • The City received a request for a kick-off meeting with ODOT for the Brook Park Road resurfacing project. The entire road from Lorain to the eastern city limits is included in the project. Engineering will take place in 2020 with construction in 2021. The total cost is estimated to be $1,850,000. The City is responsible for the cost of engineering and 20% of the construction. • The City has received confirmation from NOACA for funding of the rehabilitation of Clague Road for 2024. The project involves resurfacing between Delmere and Marion. The County has also committed to work with NOACA and the City to include the segment from Lorain to Delmere. The City is pleased the request for assistance with Clague Road has been heard and is continuing conversations regarding the scope of the project and looking into funding sources that will benefit the area.
