CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2020 - 2 By: Mayor Kennedy A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE AWARD OF A CONTRACT TO PROVIDE CONSTRUCTION SERVICES FOR THE COUNTRY CLUB BOULEVARD EAST PROJECT, AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE IN THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO CONTRACT FOR THE SAME WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER. WHEREAS, the Country Club Boulevard East Project consists of installation of new center island concrete curbing, landscaping, street lamps (with new wiring & service), sidewalks (with ADA compliant ramps), selective repair of curb bases, milling of existing concrete gutters, utility casting adjustments, asphalt overlay composed of chip seal, intermediate asphalt layer, tack coat and surface asphalt, with pavement markings to include bicycle lanes; and WHEREAS, the limits of work include approximately 2,400 lineal feet of Country Club Boulevard, located between Great Northern Blvd. and Columbia Roads, and portions of new sidewalks only on the west side of Columbia Road between Brookpark Road and approximately 350' south of I-480; and WHEREAS, the necessary specifications to competitively bid for said improvements have been prepared and are on file in the Engineering Department; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Planning and Development to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to make such improvements within the right of way, as set forth in said specifications, and to further authorize the Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Director of Planning and Development be and she is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to construct improvements within the right of way of Country Club Boulevard (East Project), as detailed in the specifications now on file in the Engineering Department, and that the Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, is hereby authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City with the lowest and best bidder. SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
