CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2020 - 18 BY: Mayor Kennedy AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 1359.08 AND 1359.09 OF CHAPTER 1359 OF THE BUILDING CODE ENTITLED "MAINTENANCE OF UNOCCUPIED COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS" IN ORDER TO AUTHORIZE THE BUILDING COMMISSIONER TO ENFORCE SAID SECTIONS AS CHIEF BUILDING OFFICIAL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED. WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Administration that the duties previously assigned to the Director of Planning and Development under Chapter 1359 be reassigned to the Building Commissioner, consistent with the re -organization of the Planning and Development / Human Resources Departments; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, consistent with the recommendations of the Administration, to adopt amendments to Chapter 1359 of the Building Code. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That Sections 1359.08 and 1359.09 of Chapter 1359, "Maintenance of Unoccupied Commercial Buildings," of the Codified Ordinances of the City of North Olmsted, which presently read in their entirety as set forth in Exhibit A, attached to this Ordinance and incorporated by reference as if fully rewritten herein, shall be amended, and as amended, shall read as set forth on Exhibit A, with such amendments noted by strikethrough and boldface text. SECTION 2: That any ordinance, or part of ordinance, in conflict or inconsistent with this Ordinance, is, to the extent of any such conflict or inconsistency, repealed. Conflicting or inconsistent provisions of any Ordinance shall be corrected at re -codification. SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest date provided for by law.
