CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2020 - 29 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MA YOR, ON BEHAL F OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, TO ACCEPT A FRESH FOOD CAPACITY <br />BUILDING GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,000.00 FROM THE OHIO <br />ASSOCIATION OF FOODBANKS AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT FOR SAME, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AS AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted, Ohio ("City") has applied for and received a <br />grant in the amount of $5,000.00 from the Ohio Association of Foodbanks for a Fresh Food <br />Capacity Building Grant at the North Olmsted Oxcart Food Pantry, specifically to provide <br />additional funding toward the purchase a freezer; and <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to enter into a Fresh Food Capacity Building Grant for SFY <br />2020 with the Ohio Association of Foodbanks, in the form attached to this Resolution, to receive <br />grant proceeds with no specific matching fund obligation; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council of the City of North Olmsted, Ohio finds and determines <br />that it is in the best interest of the City to accept the Fresh Food Capacity Building Grant for SFY <br />2020 with the Ohio Association of Foodbanks, and hereby authorizes the Mayor to execute the <br />Grant Agreement with the Ohio Association of Foodbanks, in the form attached hereto as Exhibit <br />A; and this Council does further authorize the Mayor to sign any and all additional documents or <br />forms as may be necessary to consummate and fulfill the Grant Agreement. <br />SECTION 2: That this Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this <br />Council concerning and relating to the adoption of the Resolution were taken in an open meeting <br />of this Council and that all deliberations of this Council and of any committees that resulted in <br />those formal actions were in meetings open to the public in compliance with the law. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately to meet the <br />application deadlines for grant monies, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of <br />two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its <br />passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: N ✓tib <br />First Reading: 2 -t,/- 2c) <br />Second Reading: Z- 1'6-W,,' <br />Third Reading: S�sPtin�r�� <br />Committee: <br />
