CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2020 - 38 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION DISPENSING WITH THE RFP PROCESS AND <br />A UTHORIZING THE MA FOR TO ENTER INTO AN A GREEMENT <br />WITH SHIFT4 CORPORATION DBA GATEWAY SERVICES TO <br />INSTALL POINT OF SALE SYSTEMS FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />CREDIT CARD PAYMENT RECEIPTS AT SPRINGVALE, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Springvale events coordinator has solicited quotes from vendors <br />offering point of sale (POS) systems to accept credit card payments for services provided <br />at Springvale Golf Course and Ballroom; and <br />WHEREAS, Shift4 Corporation dba Gateway Services offers such payment <br />collection services which can be integrated with Springvale POS systems at competitive <br />rates and which avoids the cost of new POS systems; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor, upon the <br />approval of the Board of Control, to enter into a contract with Shift4 Corporation dba <br />Gateway Services to provide for receipt of credit card payments at POS systems at <br />Springvale. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STA TE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter into a <br />contract with Shift4 Corporation dba Gateway Services, a copy of which is attached as <br />Exhibit A, to provide credit card scanning and imaging services integrated with POS <br />systems at Springvale Golf Course and Ballroom at a cost of $7,430.00 plus transaction <br />fees. Said contract shall be in such form and substance as in Exhibit A, and which is not <br />substantially adverse to the City and which is approved as to form by the Director of Law, <br />and funds for said services are certified by the Director of Finance. The character of the <br />contract as not being substantially adverse to the City shall be evidenced conclusively by <br />the execution of the contract by the Mayor and the approval of the contract by the <br />Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare, and for the further reason that Springvale POS systems require credit card <br />capacity in time for fish fry event next month, and further provided it receives the <br />
