CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2020 - 32 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy; Co -Sponsor: Councilman Glassburn & Councilman Kelly <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING <br />AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TO REQUEST STATEMENTS <br />OF QUALIFICATIONS (RFQ) FROM QUALIFIED <br />PROFESSIONALS TO PROVIDE ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR <br />THE CLAGUE ROAD CORRIDOR STUDY, AND FURTHER <br />A UTHORIZING THE MA YOR, FOLLOWING APPROVAL B Y THE <br />BOARD OF CONTROL, TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE <br />FIRM SELECTED IN THE RFQ PROCESS. <br />WHEREAS, Cuyahoga County and NOACA have authorized funding for <br />resurfacing Clague Road, north of Lorain Road, in FY 2024; and <br />WHEREAS, the administration proposes a traffic and safety study be conducted <br />within the Clague Road corridor prior to and in support of the resurfacing project; and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Planning and Community Development has <br />requested that this Council authorize her to use Chapter 112 of the North Olmsted <br />Codified Ordinances, to implement an RFQ process to select qualified engineering <br />services to perform the traffic and safety study; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director to use the <br />RFQ process to select appropriate engineering professionals to provide traffic analysis to <br />be coordinated with future resurfacing specifications for public bid and, further, to <br />authorize the Mayor to enter into contracts with the design professionals selected in the <br />RFQ process. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Planning and Community Development be and <br />she is authorized to implement the RFQ process to select engineering firms and <br />professionals to perform or conduct traffic and safety studies on and within the Clague <br />Road corridor in anticipation of and planning for future resurfacing project. <br />SECTION 2: The Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, is <br />authorized to enter into contracts with the engineering professionals selected in the RFQ <br />process. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after <br />the earliest period allowed by law. <br />
