CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2020 - 49 By: Mayor Kennedy A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH VEOLIA WATER TECHNOLOGIES, INC. dba KRUGER DISC FILTERS, TO PURCHASE DISC FILTER PANELS FOR INSTALLATION AT THE NORTH OLMSTED WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT (NOWWTP) AT A FINAL COST NOT TO EXCEED $109,160.00. WHEREAS, the North Olmsted Wastewater Treatment Plant (NOWWTP) requires new and replacement equipment, specifically 560 disc filter panels, for operations; and WHEREAS, the NOWWTP has solicited quotes from Veolia Water Technologies, Inc. dba Kruger Disc Filters to purchase 560 panel filters at a cost not to exceed $109,160.00 pursuant to the Quote attached as Exhibit A in order to maintain efficiency of operations and the compatibility of unique and custom components; and WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Safety/Service, based upon systems review by the Superintendent of the Wastewater Treatment Plant, to use Kruger Disc Filters due to proprietary considerations and the integration of compatible supplies without public bidding; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into an Agreement with Veolia Water Technologies, Inc. dba Kruger Disc Filters to purchase 560 panel filters at a cost not to exceed $109,160.00 based on the Quote attached as Exhibit A. WHEREAS, the Council may authorize expenditure of funds of the City in amounts exceeding those provided for from time to time by the general laws of the State of Ohio governing municipal corporations ($50,000.00) without public bidding for the product or services of public utilities. See City of North Olmsted Charter Art. VIII, Section 6. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement with Veolia Water Technologies, Inc. dba Kruger Disc Filters to purchase 560 panel filters at a cost not to exceed $109,160.00 pursuant to the Quote attached as Exhibit A, without public bidding pursuant to Article VIII, Section 6 of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted. SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest date provided for by law.
