MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FEBRUARY 25, 2020 Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Glassbum, Hemann, Limpert & Williamson Also Present: Director of Law Gareau and Clerk of Council Massarolo Absent: Council Members Kelly & Schumann; Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human Resources Gallo, Director of Safety & Service Glauner Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. ISSUE: An Ordinance amending Chapter 1149 "Mixed Use Districts" of Chapter Eleven of the Codified Ordinances of the City of North Olmsted titled "Planning and Zoning Code," for the purpose of implementing Zoning Code changes proposed by the City of North Olmsted Planning and Design Commission. Council President Jones reminded Council this was a Public Hearing and the goal is to hear from the audience their concerns and issues. Council may ask follow-up questions to any audience questions, but Council will have a Building, Zoning & Development meeting on this same topic this evening at 7:40 p.m. At that point, Council can ask any further questions. Director of Planning & Community Development Lieber asked to provide a brief summary. Director Lieber said this is a cleanup of Chapter 1149. She said the purpose is to bring the Chapter into conformance with the process and procedures established with the Zoning Code update in 2017. It provides for consistent standards in lighting, parking, signage, landscaping and building materials that have been established in other chapters. It clears up obsolete language for a district designation that no longer exists. The Director said it's not a major overhaul, but just a housekeeping update. AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION None. Councilman Brossard moved to excuse the absence of Councilman Schumann. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Williamson and passed unanimously. Roll Call:
