CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2020 - 98 BY: Mayor Kennedy AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1345.05 OF CHAPTER 1345 OF THE BUILDING CODE ENTITLED "STANDARDS FOR PRIVATE RESIDENTIAL POOLS" TO INCORPORATE STANDARDS ESTABLISHED BY THE INTERNATIONAL CODE COUNCIL FOR POOLS, SPAS AND HOT TUBS INSTALLED AT RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES. WHEREAS, by Ordinance 2015-61, passed 9-1-15, this Council adopted by reference and incorporated standards established by the International Code Council for Pools, Spas and Hot Tubs installed on residential properties in the City of North Olmsted in consideration of the health, safety and general welfare of residents and property owners; and WHEREAS, the International Code Council has been updated and retitled, prompting this request and recommendation by the Building Commissioner to amend Section 1345.05; and WHEREAS, this Council desires to amend Section 1345.05 of the Codified Ordinances in order to adopt, incorporate by reference and enforce the latest standards and titles used by the International Code Council. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That Section 1345.05 of Chapter 1345 of the Building Code, which presently reads as follow: 1345.05 STANDARDS FOR PRIVATE RESIDENTIAL POOLS. Private residential pools, spas, and hot tubs shall be constructed and maintained in accordance with the International Residential Code, Swimming Pools Chapter and Swimming Pools, Spas, and Hot Tubs Appendix, as published by the International Code Council, using the edition upon which the current Residential Code of Ohio is based. Electrical work shall be in compliance with the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70, as referenced in the current edition of the Residential Code of Ohio. BE AMENDED AND AS AMENDED SHALL READ AS FOLLOWS: 1345.05 STANDARDS FOR PRIVATE RESIDENTIAL POOLS.
