CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2020 - 78 By: Mayor Kennedy AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 1115 (DEFINITIONS) OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, AS AMENDED. WHEREAS, the Director of Planning and Economic Development engaged the consultation service of Compass Point Planning to evaluate and update the City's Sign Code in consideration of changes in the law; and WHEREAS, the planning and review process solicited public input and was guided by an advisory committee comprised of city staff, local business representatives, residents serving on City Boards and Commissions, and included feedback from focus groups to consider signage has recommended changes to regulations associated with accessory uses and structures, among other things; and WHEREAS, after being initiated in and carefully considered by the Planning and Design Commission of the City, it recommended, by formal motion, on the 81" day of July, 2020, that the new and revised Definitions for Zoning Code Chapter 1115 be approved; and WHEREAS, following publication of newspaper notice in conformance with the provisions of Section 14 of Article IV of the ChTrte� and Section 1127.03 of the Zoning Code, a public hearing was held on the t� day of 5(-Y -(n >(V 2020; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to amend Planning and Zoning Code Chapter 1115 as recommended by the Planning and Design Commission, in order to modify definitions applicable to the Zoning Code, particularly the sign regulations as set forth in the Ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That Chapter 1115 which presently reads in its entirety as set forth in the document attached to this Ordinance as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference as if fully restated, be amended, and, as amended, shall read in its entirety as set forth in the document attached to this Ordinance as Exhibit B and incorporated herein by reference as if fully restated. SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council be and he is hereby directed to cause notice of a Public Hearing hereon to be given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 of Article IV of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted and Section 1127.03 of the North Olmsted Zoning Code.
