CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2020 —124 <br />BY: Mayor Kennedy & the Entire City Council <br />AN ORDINANCE DISPENSING WITH THE RFP PROCESS <br />OTHERWISE REQUIRED BY SECTIONS 111.03 ET SEQ. OF THE <br />ADMINISTRATIVE CODE AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, <br />SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, IF <br />NECESSARY, TO ENTER INTO A TWO-YEAR AGREEMENT WITH <br />THE WALTER H. DRANE COMPANY FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />PROVIDING ORDINANCE CODIFICATION SERVICES TO THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, The Walter H. Drane Company has provided ordinance codification <br />services to the City of North Olmsted for many years; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has been satisfied with the professional services that have <br />been provided over those years by The Walter H. Drane Company and believes that the <br />fees charged by the company have been reasonable; and <br />WHEREAS, municipal corporations require such professional services in order to <br />effectively index and arrange adopted ordinances that are of a permanent nature; and <br />WHEREAS, there are only a very limited number of companies in northeast Ohio <br />that currently provide such codification services to municipal corporations; and <br />WHEREAS, The Walter H. Drane Company last entered into a five (5) year <br />contract on or about January 1, 2015; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to dispense with the formal RFP <br />process provided for in Sections 111.03 et seq. of the Codified Ordinances, because of <br />the continuing professional relationship between the City and The Walter H. Drane <br />Company, and to authorize the Mayor, subject to approval of the Board of Control, if <br />necessary, to enter into a two (2) year agreement with The Walter H. Drane Company to <br />continue to provide the ordinance codification services that the City requires. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the formal RFP Process is hereby dispensed with and the <br />Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter into an agreement with The Walter H. <br />
