CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2020 -150 BY: Mayor Kennedy A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND AFFIRMING THE MAYOR'S ACCEPTANCE OF A SCOREBOARD FOR THE RECREATION CENTER ICE RINK OFFERED BY THE NORTH OLMSTED HOCKEY CLUB AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE NORTH OLMSTED HOCKEY CLUB EXCLUSIVE ADVERTISING RIGHTS ON THE DONATED SCOREBOARD FOR A LIMITED TIME AS A MEANS OF FUNDRAISING FOR ITS PROGRAMMING. WHEREAS, with the renovation of the Recreation Center Ice Rink, the North Olmsted Hockey Club generously offered a new scoreboard for use by all patrons of the Recreation Center Ice Rink; and WHEREAS, the estimated value of the sign is $7,000.00; and WHEREAS, the North Olmsted Hockey Club respectfully requests that it be authorized to lease advertising space on the sign, after the sign is donated, to assist the Club in raising revenue to support its operations and recoup its investments; and WHEREAS, the Mayor requests that Council recognize and accept this generous donation, pursuant to Section 131.06 of the Administrative Code, and join in his expression of gratitude on behalf of the City of North Olmsted and the entire community. WHEREAS, this Council desires to authorize and affirm the Mayor's acceptance of this donation with the sincerest appreciation of Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED BY THIS CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO. SECTION 1: That the City of North Olmsted authorizes and affirms the Mayor's acceptance of the ice rink scoreboard from the North Olmsted Hockey Club in the value of approximately $7,000.00. SECTION 2: The North Olmsted Hockey Club is authorized to lease advertising space on the sign and retain the advertising revenues until such revenues generated through advertising equal the sum of $7,000.00; thereafter the City shall retain all scoreboard advertising revenue. However, advertisements shall be subject to the same regulations that are applied to all advertising at the Recreation Center, as such regulations are established by the Recreation Commissioner and amended from time to time. SECTION 3: That the Clerk of Council initiate, on behalf of this Council and the City of North Olmsted, correspondence thanking the North Olmsted Hockey Club for its generous donation to the City. SECTION 4: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
