CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021- 1 <br />BY: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT A GIFT <br />CARD DONATION OFFERED BY MJS LIFE SERVICES IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $2,400.00 TO BE USED BY THE OXCART PANTRY, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, MJS Life Services, on or before December 21, 2020, offered to make a <br />donation of gift cards in the amount of $2,400.00 for the benefit of the Oxcart Pantry to support <br />its mission to provide food for those in need; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor requests that Council recognize and accept these generous <br />donations, pursuant to Section 131.06 of the Administrative Code, and join in his expression of <br />gratitude on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, the Oxcart Pantry and the entire community; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to authorize the Mayor's acceptance of this donation in <br />an amount over $1,000.00 with the sincerest appreciation of Council. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the City of North Olmsted authorizes the Mayor to accept a donation <br />of gift cards from MJS Life Services to be used by the Oxcart Pantry and further authorizes the <br />Mayor to execute any documentation necessary or appropriate to document such donation. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council initiate, on behalf of this Council and the City <br />of North Olmsted, correspondence thanking the donors for their generous donation to the Oxcart <br />Pantry. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that the Oxcart Pantry may put these gift cards to immediate use during the <br />winter season; and further provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br />members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED:�rev�,�� <br />ATTEST: <br />A A <br />HARLES MAS AROLO H <br />Clerk of Council <br />First Reading: 1-S ZaF� <br />Second Reading: 1c,�z <br />Third Reading: <br />Committee:-;�.�,,, <br />NICOLE DAILEYJ E <br />President of Counci <br />
