CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021 - 8 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MA YOR TO PURCHASE TWO (2) <br />2021 FORD EXPLORER POLICE INTERCEPTOR VEHICLES AT A COST <br />OF $65,473.20 THROUGH THE STATE PURCHASE PROGRAM, AND <br />FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL CONTRACT <br />DOCUMENTS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Chief of Police recommend that the City acquire two (2) new <br />Ford Explorer Police Interceptor vehicles for use within the Department of Public Safety, <br />Division of Police, from Larkin Greenewood Ford at a cost of $65,473.20, as established and <br />quoted on the State Purchase Program; and <br />WHEREAS, although this purchase was previously authorized via 2020-147, it has come <br />to the attention of the administration that these vehicles are no longer available from Lebanon <br />Ford; and <br />WHEREAS, the price under the new proposal is slightly less than the original proposal; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase said <br />vehicles through the State Purchase Program and to further authorize the Mayor to execute any <br />contract documents required for such expenditure, including a contract with Larkin Greenewood <br />Ford. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to purchase through the <br />State Purchase Program, which was established by R.C. Section 125.04, and which the City is <br />authorized to participate in pursuant to the City Charter and Resolution No. 87-6, two (2) new <br />2021 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor vehicles, at a cost of $65,473.20, from Larkin <br />Greenewood Ford, all of which is described in the specifications on file in the Safety Department <br />and the purchase documents attached hereto as Exhibit A. The Mayor is hereby authorized to <br />execute any contract documents with vendors and, as necessary, to effectuate the State Purchase <br />Program. Any contract executed by the Mayor shall be in a form and substance consistent with <br />the provisions of this Resolution and be approved by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That Resolution 2020-147, passed January 5, 2021, be and the same is <br />hereby repealed, void and of no further legal effect. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />
