Council Minutes of 2-2-2021
Council President Jones said you are able to join us at our Caucus meetings. The
meetings typically start at 7:45 p.m. the night we have Council meetings that start at 8
p.m. If you ever need any recordings, you may contact our Clerk to get copies.
Mr. Sturgeon said he did not see it on the City Calendar or where to sign on or anything
like that. He said he was trying to see it tonight and wasn't able to.
Council President Jones said the link to the Caucus Meeting is the same link you'd use to
connect to the meeting at 8 p.m.
Mr. Sturgeon said he read in the paper about the improvements at Clague Park having
bathrooms and a walking trail. He said the article mentioned there was never any
bathrooms at Clague Park. Mr. Sturgeon said there was a bathroom at Clague Park many
years ago very close to where it sounds like the new ones are going. He said if that's the
case the City Engineer should know there should still be a sewer and maybe water
available at that location.
Council President Jones said the City will make sure the City Engineer looks into it.
Mr. Sturgeon had another question about the amendment for the chicken coops. He
wanted to know if it was changed to 40 feet and if that was from the neighbor's property
or from their house.
Director Gareau said it was changed from 200 feet from any residential structure.
Councilman Limpert said that was the old policy and it was changed to 40 feet.
Mr. Sturgeon asked if it is 40 feet from the structure or the property line.
Director Gareau said his recollection is it is not from the property line because it would
eliminate virtually most locations in the City.
Council President Jones said it is her recollection the distance was 45 feet, but the
Council Clerk would follow up directly to make sure Mr. Sturgeon gets the correct
information.
LEGISLATION
Ordinance 2021-2 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its third reading. An
Ordinance authorizing the Director of Human Resources to request proposals from
qualified individuals to provide nuisance abatement services for 2021; and further
authorizing the Mayor, subject to approval of the Board of Control, to enter into an
agreement with the individual selected in the RFP process, and declaring an emergency.
Councilman Limpert moved to adopt Resolution 2021-2. The motion was seconded by
Councilman Kelly and passed unanimously.
Roll Call:
Yes: Limpert, Kelly, Glassburn, Schumann, Hemann, Brossard, Williamson
Co
