CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2021 - 12 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />Cosponsor: Council President Jones <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 131.06 ENTITLED, <br />"AUTHORITY TO ACCEPT DONATIONS" OF CHAPTER 131 OF <br />THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, ENTITLED "MAYOR", IN <br />ORDER TO ALLOW THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT DONATIONS NOT <br />EXCEEDING $2,000.00, SUBJECT TO LIMITATIONS AND <br />REPORTING REOUIREMENTS ANY C 4 S'=OIr' VT— C,4� <br />AS AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, Section 131.06, "Authority to Accept Donations" of Chapter 131 of <br />the Codified ordinances of the City of North Olmsted provides the framework for the <br />City to accept donations of money or personal property; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council recently amended Section 131.06 in order to require <br />that donations exceeding $1,000.00 be approved by Council prior to acceptance by the <br />Mayor (Ord. 2020-116. Passed 12-1-20); and <br />WHEREAS, the Administration has tendered several donations for the <br />prerequisite of Council approval and observed that donations for the Senior Center or the <br />Oxcart Food Pantry may be expedited by exception from prior Council approval; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council wishes to further amend the procedure to encourage and <br />expedite donations to the Oxcart Food Pantry or Senior Center without prior Council <br />approval. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That section 131.06 of the Administrative Code, shall be amended <br />and as amended shall read in its entirety as follows, with amendments identified in bold, <br />strikethrough and underlined text: <br />131.06 AUTHORITY TO ACCEPT DONATIONS. <br />(a) The Mayor is authorized to accept donations of money and/or personal <br />property on behalf of the City, so long as: <br />(1) The donation represents an unconditional gift by the donor; <br />(2) The donation does not require that the City provide any matching funds or <br />property; and <br />
