CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2021 - 13 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 139.04 ENTITLED, <br />"DIVISION OF POLICE" OF CHAPTER 139 OF THE <br />ADMINISTRATIVE CODE OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, ENTITLED "DEPARTMENT OF <br />PUBLIC SAFETY" IN ORDER TO INCREASE THE AMOUNT OF <br />THE PETTY CASH FUND FOR USE BY THE NORTH OLMSTED <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT. <br />WHEREAS, Section 139.04, "Division of Police" of Chapter 139 of the Codified <br />ordinances of the City of North Olmsted includes subsection (c) entitled "Prisoner <br />Feeding Fund" which currently provides for a $100.00 petty cash fund; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council has, over the course of many years, allotted a total <br />amount of four hundred dollars ($400.00) in Petty Cash, and designated the funds for the <br />detective bureau, prisoner meals, and for general use including parking ticket transactions <br />(Ord. No. 68-127, Ord. No. 72-19, Ord. No. 77-85, and Ord. No. 91-32); and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to update the codified ordinances <br />based upon and consistent with these several uncodified ordinances, and consistent with <br />the operations of the North Olmsted Police Department; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council wishes to retitle Section 139.04 (c), increase the amount <br />of Petty Cash to $400.00, and provide for its usage by the North Olmsted Police <br />Department pursuant to procedures established by the Finance Department. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That section 139.04 of the Administrative Code, shall be amended <br />and as amended shall read in its entirety as follows, with amendments identified in bold <br />and underlined text: <br />139.04 DIVISION OF POLICE. <br />There is hereby established a Division of Police within the Department of Public <br />Safety. The Division of Police shall be headed by the Chief of Police. <br />(a) Duties. The Chief of Police shall be responsible for the organization and <br />supervision of the Division of Police. Included within the supervisory authority of the <br />Chief of Police shall be sworn police officers of all ranks within the Division of Police, <br />Central Emergency Dispatchers, Correction Officers, Secretaries, and Auxiliary Officers. <br />(b) Employees. The staffing of the Division of Police is hereby established and <br />is reflected in the organizational chart for the Department of Public Safety contained in <br />
