CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2021 - 16 <br />By: Council President Jones <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION ]0Z15 ENTITLED, <br />"FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE STATEMENTS REQUIRED" OF <br />CHAPTER 107 OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE OF THE <br />CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, <br />ENTITLED "CODE OF ETHICS", IN ORDER TO AMEND THE <br />LOCAL FILING DEADLINE TO MATCH STATE LAW, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Section 107.15, "Financial Disclosure Statements Required" of <br />Chapter 107 of the Codified ordinances of the City of North Olmsted provides a fixed <br />deadline of April 30th each year for the filing of Financial Disclosure Statements by <br />elected and certain appointed public officials; and <br />WHEREAS, Ohio Revised Code Section 102.02(A)(4)(a), however, provides that <br />such Financial Disclosure Statements must be filed by May 15th each year, with some <br />provisions for additional circumstances, at a variance from NOCO § 107.15; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to amend NOCO § 107.15 in order to <br />match the local ethics code with deadlines imposed by State law. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Section 107.15 of the Administrative Code, shall be amended <br />and as amended shall read in its entirety as follows, with amendments identified in bold, <br />strikethrough and underlined text: <br />107.15 FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE STATEMENT REQUIRED. <br />(a) All elected officials and those appointed officials who serve on the Board of <br />Control shall file a copy of a financial disclosure statement, utilizing forms which is <br />provided by the Ohio Ethics Commission, with the Clerk of Council, no later than my 1, <br />1983, and they-eafter no later than April 30th May 301h in each year. Sueh form shall be <br />made ai'-AR of befefe Mar -eh ist of eaeh year- thfough the office of the Clerk o <br />Nothing contained herein shall be construed so as to require appointed officials <br />to file the financial disclosure statement with the Ohio Ethics Commission. Likewise, <br />nothing contained herein shall be construed as excusing any person who is required to file <br />a disclosure statement with the Ohio Ethics Commission. <br />(b) Any official failing to file the financial disclosure statement as required by <br />subsection (a) hereof, shall be fined not more than two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00). <br />
