CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2020 - 145 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE AMENDMENT OF <br />CHAPTER 1135 (ONE AND TWO FAMIL Y RESIDENCE DISTRICTS) <br />OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, AS AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Planning and Community Development, upon consultation <br />with the Building Commissioner, and upon further review and initiation by the Planning and <br />Design Commission, recommends that Council consider adoption of amendments to Chapter <br />1135 for One and Two Family Residence Districts; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed amendments are summarized as follows: <br />1135.02 Accessory Uses <br />• Amend Section 1135.02.A Home Occupations in order to better align signage <br />requirements with newly adopted Chapter 1163. <br />• Amend Section 1135.02.0 Storage Buildings and Accessory Structures to distinguish <br />between decks and patios that are covered, uncovered or at grade for the purposes of applying <br />required setbacks. <br />• Amend Section 1135.02.H Recreational Vehicles in order to describe the activities during <br />which recreational vehicles may be parked upon driveways, eliminating the current timing <br />requirements. <br />• Amend Section 1135.02.K Prohibited Accessory Structures and Uses in order to clarify <br />language regarding the prohibition of carports. <br />• Add new Section 1135.02.L Temporary Ramps to allow relief for property owners <br />seeking to install ramps for the purpose of accessibility and establishing standards regarding <br />their placement. <br />1135.05 Lot Area, Coverage and Width <br />• Amend Section 115.05.B Maximum Lot Coverage to help clarify that all accessory <br />structures contribute to the calculation of rear yard lot coverage. <br />1135.07 Projections <br />• Amend Section 1135.07.A to establish a maximum area of entrance features which may <br />project into a front yard. <br />
