CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021 - 31 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO AD VER TISE FOR <br />BIDS FOR THE AWARD OF A CONTRACT TO LEASE REPLACEMENT <br />FITNESS / CARDIO EQUIPMENT AT THE NORTH OLMSTED <br />RECREATION CENTER, AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON <br />FILE IN THE DIVISION OF RECREATION, AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR, FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO <br />CONTRACT FOR THE SAME WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted Division of Recreation is presently utilizing <br />equipment that is at or near the end of its useful life; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to ensure continuous, uninterrupted service to patrons of the North <br />Olmsted Recreation Center, it is important to replace cardio equipment before maintenance and <br />service issues arise and interrupt operations; and <br />WHEREAS, the health and fitness industry is a highly competitive business that demands <br />timely updates of equipment in order to attract new customers and retain current patrons; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to advertise for bids <br />for the award of a contract to lease new, replacement fitness equipment for use at the Recreation <br />Center, as set forth in the said specifications, and to further authorize the Mayor, following <br />approval by the Board of Control, if necessary, to enter into a contract with the lowest and best <br />bidder. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the <br />award of a contract to lease new fitness equipment for use at the Recreation Center, as detailed in <br />the specifications now on file in the Division of Recreation, and that further, the Mayor, <br />following approval by the Board of Control, is hereby authorized to execute a contract on behalf <br />of the City with the lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the <br />earliest period allowed by law upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: First Reading: N'zo-2� <br />Second Reading: S-5-zj <br />Third Reading: S 16,2 <br />
